God's Prayer Force History
God's Prayer Force was established to provide prayer support for the Revelation Speaks Peace meetings in Portland, Oregon during February 2008. We recruited interested Seventh-day Adventists to join GPF as a part of those who would pray for the Holy Spirit to descend upon the Portland Metropolitan area. We wanted to be proactive in using God's established means to prepare the hearts and minds of those would receive God's truth.
While the immediate plan was to pray for the meetings in February 2008, we also believed that this dedicated force of believers would continue to be used for years to come as we did our part in cooperating with God for the various needs that would come until Jesus returns. We see this prayer ministry expanding its reach as the future unfolds. In fact members of the Prayer Force come from all over North America and we have some from other parts of the world. It will some day be a global ministry.
The Lord has given us two tools that are primary in this current "battle": Prayer and Bible Study. GPF is an organized plan to mobilize the prayer power of Seventh-day Adventists around the world. Please consider joining this force and serving His Kingdom. It is time, isn't it?
Why the Military-Like Language?
You will hear us speak of force, warriors, battles, army, targets, bases, etc. This is done because the Bible says, "And there was war in Heaven..." (Revelation 12:7) and then goes on to reveal the war between Christ and Satan. This war is the basis of all the evil on earth.
As the Bible says: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authoritites, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:12 NIV)
What We Are Asking You to Do
We are asking all who join GPF to agree to the following:
• To pray every day, if possible, for the items on our Prayer Target list.
• To commit to being a part of GPF as long as you can, perhaps until Jesus comes.
• To log on to this website; www.godspf.com at least once per week to see the latest communications for prayer
targets (requests), events, and other announcements.
• To take time to pray for special requests that wil be emailed to each GPF member.
• If possible, to attend any outreach meetings, in your area, and be a part of the on-site army of prayers.
• Encourage others to be a part of the "Prayer Force."
• Help, suggest, and possibly lead the establishment of a Prayer Force Base in your local Church.
• If possible, to attend GPF Rallies and Training events as available.
Why Do I Need to Join the Prayer Force, Can't I Just Pray and Not Sign Up?
The reason we are asking you to sign up is so we can communicate needs as they arise, and we know things will come up. We are going to be very careful about how many "alerts" we send out. We will not "spam" you with unnecessary communications, but when something happens we want the "force" to be able to respond as quickly as possible.
